Dumbest post ever, here I go:

    Desperate times, desperate measures.... etc.

I'm on a plane to Costa Rica next Saturday for my 'grassroots' shoulder surgery (make life an adventure!). So tonight my travel companion decides to get cold feet and bail on me. TONIGHT!!! I'm NOT happy! If it were a family emergency or something I'd understand. But hey, such is life right?

Anyone out there want a free two week trip to Costa Rica? I'll need a hand post-surgery and you'll have to share a room with me. I'm serious, I hate to waste the airfare I already paid for. Depart Hartford (BDL) Saturday Jan 9 early AM.

Edit: You'll need a valid passport.

Ouch. No school till the 25th but also my passport is expired. I would not even hesitate to go. Think i can get it renewed in 5 days?

Good luck with the surgery, my mom said the next time i need major dental work she's sending me back to Ecuador.

Call the State Department and see what they have to say. Can't hurt. I'm in a pretty lousy situation here.

Well, after all the drama I'm happy to report everything is back to the original plan. Cold feet issues have been resolved and we're both excited to leave the snow behind for a couple of weeks.

Thanks to all for the support. CarKid I owe you a drink next time you're in CT.

    Enjoy your trip.

I didn't think you could change names on a ticket at the last minute. Anybody know?

Costa Rica is supposed to be pretty cool. They like Gringos there, I understand. Lots of people that speak English. Please keep in touch so we know how you are doing. Y, Buena Suerte, amigo!

Well, I'm back. Costa Rica is amazing! We had loads of fun, the surgery went well. I can't say enough good things about the whole experience.

Tell us more about the surgery and why you needed to travel so far. Just curious really. Was it a healthcare coverage issue? Cutting edge procedure? Are you now the bionic man?
