No of course we didn't mess with them, I would never dream of modifying military equiptment

They bring their own fuel. To make sure it is secure. We pay tons of money to ship gas and diesel all over the world to make sure it is secure.

yeah but it will run on local fuel if necessary (like something catastrophic happens to their supply)

what do you think all those suvs are for in their convoys.

Who do you think makes them?
In reply to 914Driver: what's that supposed to mean?
I've seen Bush's car a few times when he's come to Manhattan, and if it's a diesel it is the quietest one I've ever seen. As far as Motorcades in general If you've never seen a president come to town it is a show worth seeing. I am always impressed by how quickly and professionaly the move through an area. Some guys like the snippers set up way in advanced, but the amount of time they close down the city for him to move is surprisingly short.
I've never seen any indication that the motorcade cars were diesels either. Every indication that they are in fact gasoline powered. By their sound, their motion and their exhaust.
The VP was speaking in Florida once and a friend leaned against his car to try to look inside the dark glass. Secret Service took him to a private room for an hour for a chat. Look but Don't Touch is apparently the rule!

That is okay but, needs more fire power!
GameboyRMH wrote:Someone was arguing with me yesterday that this is a hybrid. I don't know but I argued that putting a hybrid drivetrain in this would be the dumbest idea in the history of armored vehicles - it would be a breakdownbaby and the range and performance under electric power in such a tank would be a joke. I argued that the best engine for this would be a carbed diesel - it would be invulnerable to EMP attacks or anything like that, no worry about wires being severed or connectors being knocked loose in a bomb attack, and with no ignition or EFI systems (especially with multiple carbs) it would be dead reliable (although a nightmare to tune and a gas guzzler even by armored vehicle standards).
The only advantage of a hybrid is that it doesn't need air to run, but compressed air tanks could take care of that (at least temporarily) on an ICE.
There's been some VERY interesting Hybrid development in armored vehicles over the years. They've proven reliable in testing at various military facilities: you WILL see hybrid wheeled military vehicles in the relatively near future. A number of benefits: the option to run "quiet", 4 in hub e-drives means all sorts of packaging problems go away, traction control/stability control/"skid" steering etc are all a few lines of programming away. Extended range and fuel economy ARE issues in hostile territory, etc. etc.
Ok, back to our scheduled program... :)

Man, shells were pouring outa that turret like water bro, any more fire power and theyd have to upgrade to a V10 cause the kickback would pull the truck backward LOL
Saw it on TV today, it looks like it has gun ports in the rear doors (where the presidential crest is in the pictures). It also sounded like a gas engine, and the black suv's sounded like HD diesels. But I don't know where the news used the sound feed from.
Personally I think its a cool 'limo,' but being the commander in chief, I think he should ask the opinion of his armed forces if they believe it's appropriate to be riding around in, and if there cool in their 'uparmored' hmmv's.

What did Bush used to roll in?
US Presidents have been using Cadilacs for the past 16 years. Why is this "news" now? Hmmm.
Everytime the president gets a new car they release a news story about it. If they could they'd do a story everytime he got new underware. It's what they do.
Apparently it wasn't meant for visiting small islands
