Bob Costas was on Leno the other night. And for some odd reason GRM was never mentioned. It was the elephant in the room

I've seen him a couple of times during the Olympic coverage, but mostly they seem to reserve him for the very annoying post-broadcast wrap-up show I don't watch anyway... 'cause when I think "Olympics," I don't think "guy with carefully undyed temples sitting in a big leather chair in front of a fire." That's more "Masterpuss Theater."

I suppose they were going for that "ski lodge lounge" feel for the set...

I can handle him easier than I can handle those damned cowbell things everybody makes horrible noise with. Seriously, what the berkeley is up with that? The only sport I've been able to handle so far is curling, and that required LOTS of vodka.

I friggin can't stand those noisemakers as well. I can understand the union of vodka and curling spectatorship, but the only sport you liked? I know the reference to our favorite hobby is obvious, but I really enjoyed the speed skating I was able to catch. A bunch of guys on the edge of losing control, going around a circle, with a high chance of racing incidents . . . wait a minute . . . Oh no, I think I just described NASCAR

i like that jalopnik chart. When i was watching the short track speed skating i totally thought " hey, this is like nascar only instead of nascars they all have razer sharp swords strapped to their feet"

Heh, heh...I've only thought of the long course speed skating as NASCAR. The short track stuff is like dirt oval sprint cars or Modifieds.

And I like the Alpine Skiing as "Old Formula One". That seems about right.
