Shelby GT / Bullitt get their clocks cleaned by GTO's in my region. If one of the GTO guys got un-lazy and went to nats you would see it dominate there as well.

I almost never agree with P71 but in this case... we are 100% lockstepped. The GTO is better than any of them and the C5 Z-06 is better that the GTO if you don't need the trunk and extra seats.
The "best" pony car in america is probably a Silverado. More power, same weight and ride height... but it can tow :)

Want real performance? Used Corvette. Has to have a back seat? Used GTO. Need a hatch? Used F-Body.
I know some people would recommend used 05-09 Mustang GT's but I can't get over how much I dislike them. I'd much rather have an 03-04 Mach 1 then a 05 GT for the same money.
