What works, what doesn't, and give me some ideas
I would love to be able to capture digital video clips on the bike, possibly stills.
example of what I'd like to do: http://vimeo.com/10848964

anything more Grassroots ($)? I love the gopro stuff though
A flip should work - otherwise - as small as you can find and with a good mount. I used my amex points through amazon (that sounded kinda like corp commercial). But no cash out of pocket for the camera, a 32 Gb SD card and a bag of mounts.

I did an inexpensive camera setup before the GoPro was available.
Get a used GoPro.
My setup was/is a security camera mounted to the roof ($30 on sale at Harbor Freight), a wide-angle lens (I did a 90, get the 150! $15 at Micro Center), a VCR from Craigslist ($25), and a power inverter ($40 from... somewhere).
The quality isn't as good as digital, you still need a way to get it on your computer if you want stills or video online, and you should be able to find a used GoPro for under $110.
ok...this is possibly worth a shot looking at. People have found $11 (shipped) Keyring camcorders
