When Google tracks every part of your online habits for their profit everyone is just sort of OK with it, When facebook tries a percentage of what google does everybody freaks out.

Not me. Even now, I go to an airline or cruise ship site to look around, and the next two hours of banner ads are from that.
As much as I am not a FB fan, this is very, very much not limited to them.

The issue is that when you log out... they still follow you by installing cookies that never expire and have your user id in them. All of the partner sites can know which user you are and update the other partner databases and/or FB - even if they don't know they are doing it (they use the FB API to code the widget, game, etc). That is how all those "Like" buttons manage to appear on your FB page as "Jimmy likes anal squid porn".
Google does it too... and probably everyone else who has any advertising/marketing acumen and an Internet presence.

I almost drowned drinking grain alcohol. Well, actually it was swimming in the ocean during a tropical storm but the idea was only "good" because my thinker was floating in white lightning.
