Or, ya know, we could just legalize the world's oldest profession, mandating health and wellness checkups like the porn industry, thus eliminating the need for a black market source and most of the bad that comes with it. Kinda like we did with alcohol prohibition, and like how we're starting to treat pot, when the states aren't dumb enough to tack on an extra $50/ounce "freedom tax".

Even without legalizing it, enforcing the sort of health and safety requirements that would be reasonable for a legitimate spa is often enough.

Recently, we had a local talk radio host bring up how Macon, Georgia had  a problem with "24 hour spa" places with well-connected landlords. Council members who wanted to put a stop to this passed a couple rather basic health and safety ordinances - along the lines of "All rooms employees are required to be in must have lights", not even any sort of regulations that even seemed to single out massage parlors, let alone prostitution. And they stepped up code enforcement a bit. After a few places got slapped with fines, the "24 hour spa with truck parking" places pretty much disappeared from the city.

Just expecting those places to behave like they're legitimate businesses can sometimes be enough.

I'm with Rev, just legalize, tax, and regulate it. I see no reason to deny a consensual transaction between agreeing adults.

But I'm also of the opinion all drugs should be legalized, and addiction treated as the health issue it is vs a criminal issue.

But I'm not in charge.

Kraft's not going to sell the team, guys. His son Jonathan Kraft pretty much runs things these days, and they not only own the team, but they own the other team that plays in the stadium (New England Revolution MLS Soccer club), the stadium itself, and just about everything within a 5-mile radius of the stadium. If anything happens, he'll just step down and formally hand over operations to his son.

Unlike some other members of the "sons of team owners" club, Jonathan actually knows what he's doing. He's been the president of the Patriots for the past 14 years and involved with the team since his dad bought it. I bet he's understandably disappointed in his dad's antics.

The dynasty is not going to implode as a result of RKK being in trouble. When Brady and Belichick walk away, then we can have that talk.

I had to search to see what Spearmint Rhino was, and I regret this now.
