Hmmm... I may have jumped the gun.
Turns out the tumor is slow growing and presumed to be benign, but they have not done a biopsy.
They also found that she has Hydrocephalus. She goes into surgery on Tues.
Sorry if it sounds like I'm confused. I'm confused.

I neglected to mention the one ~really~ weird part about after you have brain surgery. Evidently while they have the big freakin' porthole they carve into your noggin (with a super evil rotozip looking deal) open, the cerebro-spinal fluid that your brain usually floats around in - runs out.
The day after, I'm sitting up in bed and I turn to pick something up off the bedside table...
Glug...glug...glug...gurgle...
When My surgeon visited I asked "so, is my head supposed to gurgle when I move it around?"
He explained about the CSF leakage and that it takes a while to refill.
"So essentially I'm like a snow globe with an air bubble?"
"Exactly"

In reply to motomoron:
That's pretty disgusting. Awesome, but disgusting. I love the way you put it. A snow globe with an air bubble haha. That had to feel so weird.

I had dinner with this friend and her family tonight, and it made me realize I never followed up with you guys.
First off- She's doing GREAT! Thank you for your prayers.
Turns out, she does have a tumor, and it's pretty embedded in some difficult areas of her brain. The tumor had caused a lot of swelling, and an ensephaly, which caused enough pressure on her brain to cause a lot of trouble. The doctors put in a stint, which drained off the fluids. She'd been having terrible migraines, and motor coordination problems, but no issues now.
After draining the fluids, the doctors decided to monitor the tumor, but not operate. It is very invasive, and difficult surgery, and they said sometimes the tumor just stops growing when the fluid is gone. So far, that is the case.
So, they have not done a biopsy, because it is too invasive. The growth of the tumor has halted, and the doctors said it could be 20 or 30 years before there are any related issues.
I really enjoyed spending some time with her this evening. She is a lovely little girl, with a tremendous smile. And she is feeling great.
So again, thank you for your prayers.

Thanks for the update !
Sometimes we get too much "Tunnel vision" carrying on about our Steel, paint, and plastic. While it may be the greatest hobby or manner to make a living, it is only that.
May that girl enjoy a long life filled with beauty, compassion, and love ! -

Hella expensive, but it did the job. Wishing your tribe the best of all possible outcomes. It really stinks that a girl that young has to suffer so much.
