I was looking through some links in another thread about fiero's, because, well I have always wanted one.

I ran across this gem: northstar

Mid engine fiero (stretched chassy) longitudinal northstar (with 4 2 bbl carbs!) and porsche manual transmission. Amongst other things.

    Wow..

Not much left of the Fiero, I like the dash swap.

What happened to it? What a bizarre car. The Firebird hatch and Northstar/Porsche drivetrain were awesome, but the 4 2Bbls and diamond plate were horrific.

Yeah, I wanted to see the end result. Shame the website was never finished.

Actually not really, because holy crap that website is terrible considering it can't be any older than 2004. Shame he didn't host the photos somewhere decent.

Being a Fiero owner myself, I really do hate hat some people do to these little cars. But, to each their own I guess. Hell, there is a guy right now fabbin up mounts to bolt in a BMW V12 into the back of his Fiero. Transversly mounted even.

    Read all about it here......

There are 67 pages worth of stuff in there. A lot of detail.

I've seen SBC's swapped in and that is sweet. I actually really like this because it's different. Now, the diamond plate is nasty for sure. I really like the profile with the air intakes on the side, wow. But, I'm not a fan of the firebird hatch. I think the Pulsar NX wagon type hatch looked way better. How old is the last update to the site?

He lost me with the original back cover, then totally got me back when the Camarobird glass went on. The lines looked factory.

Well, I didn't check every page of that build thread, but here are some pics from p.57:

That looks pretty damn good doesn't it? Some of the mechanical engineering seems a bit sketchy when you go through the build though.

I gotta say, I bet it didn't help it through the slalom but it is probably pretty nice at high speed along Michigans highways. I'd rock it.

Good execution of a bad idea.
