I found an even better one,

    http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/1395563407.html

It's a 78 regal with 23" inch rims on a 15" lift kit with 8 grand invested in engine work but still, NO SUPERCHARGER ?

I think the $8k was "invested" in the frame modifications, not the engine, but of course I could well be wrong. I will say that for such a radical ride, he is not sporting nearly as large a set of wheels as I might have imagined.

His friends will point and laugh... oh, wait.

I cant stop laughing at how stupid this 78 regal looks. Who the hell is going to pay 15,000 bucks for that frankenstein pimp ride? And I just noticed that the guy posted the ad up in the Los Angeles craigslist and the car is in Phoenix Arizona. This guy expects someone to drive 6 hours to buy that junk.

Someone call him and talk some sense to that guy.

This thing looks like a Transformer that froze up in mid-transformation. Maybe it was running Windows.

That is a very nice 5K car. Nuff said. If you are stupid enough to spend that kind of money on that car, don't expect anybody else to return your stupid money.

Agreed, but I guarantee that there is somebody out there with gold teeth and a velour track suit that is making his girls "work" a little harder so he can buy that.......

    1983 911 SC

The text of the ad is in dealer image format, and the pics are large, so I'll post a summary. Guy is asking $12,900, claims that Excellence values the same car in excellent condition at $16,000. Car has 85,000 claimed miles.

    The Bad

-Car is Champagne in color (not a problem personally, but see discussion on Brown Porsches)

-Front end is BADLY stone chipped, paint damage on fender, sunroof.

-Both front seats need to be recovered.

-Seller admits sunroof operation is sketchy.

    The Ugly

-fresh oil all over engine case (and on the shop floor under the car.

-Unibody rust peeking out in the LF wheelwell.

The seller claims to have put a bunch of money into the car on parts and service recently (tires, shocks, windshield, valve job, etc). I'm no 911 expert, but am still pretty certain that $3100 is going to be quite a stretch to deal with everything this car needs. In cases like this, posting the "excellent" value in an ad for an "average" or "fair" car seems to serve no purpose other than to give the buyer a bargaining chip.

20,000 dollars for a Porsche 944, NO THANK YOU!

I bought my 944 for 400 bucks from the original owner. The catch was that the clutch didn't work but I fixed it and it worked like new.
