Here's our 12 year old Cocker, Connor. I've only known him (and my wife) for the past five years, but before that, he helped her survive cancer--he was the best friend she could have had.

Now he's blind in one eye, both of his heardrums have been removed, and he's gettting fatty tumors and moles all over his body. He sleeps a lot, but when he wants excitement, he humps the cat until the cat gets mad and swats at him.

According to my wife, I'm the second-most important in my house, behind Connor. She realizes he won't be around forever; that will be my chance to become number one.

    He's become as much of a Daddy's-boy as a Momma's-boy.

Dave, do you know what kind of dog you have? I picked up a pup off the interstate in TN that had been tossed from a car and hit, and he looks just like yours. We have no idea what he is, though. Aside from overweight and annoying, that is.

I love the way they look though, LOL! Lucky's a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. I'm not quite sure what he's mixed WITH, but he is definitely part Ridgeback.

Whatever he's mixed with, is keeping him rather small to be a Ridgeback, but I kinda prefer his size (about knee-high) versus the massive size full blooded Rhodesian reach, LOL!

Funny, my folks recently got a Ridgeback mutt to keep that one company after the old family dog died, and I can see a resemblance. The highway mutt in question, though is significantly smaller, but vey similar coloration.

And, as I type this, I'm dogsitting for a friend, who has a Ridgeback among three other weirdos. They're everywhere!

Agreed. They are the most gentle dogs you could ever encounter. Basically a 154 lb lap dog!

This is my girlfriend's dog Lily. Normally, she has shaggy fur:

We're really not sure what she is. Maybe Lhasa, Havanese, some sort of terrier, who knows. We get tired of people asking, "What kind of dog is she?" My stock answer now is: "A fussy dog."

She does like beer. Old Rasputin is her favorite. But my girlfriend will kill me if I do not explain that all she ever gets are the last few drops out of a bottle, or the last bit at the bottom of the glass that is left forgotten on an end table.

She also howl/says "Hello" when people walk in the door. Or when we wake up in the morning.

Cleo the kitten, Max the big cat, and Patches the dog. Cleo is a calico with patches of Orange and Tiger-Stripe Tabby, Max is an orange tabby (although my mother is convinced that he is a Red Abyssinian) and Patches is a mix of Beagle, Demon, English Setter, Pointer, Doofus, and Sheepdog. If she is not sleeping, Patches is: or she is

looks like a lhasa/shih tsu mix of some kind, but no telling. how big is she? also lhasas have really long eyelashes, can't tell if she's had them trimmed off or just doesn't have the long ones.

friend of mine used to have a pomeranian that loved beer, had to be careful because she'd jump up in your lap and start licking the rim of the bottle before you were finished.
