ok according to my friends i guess my priorities are all ascew.. i have no interest anymore in goin to saturday night short tracks.. i hate sittin in the bleachers and its between 30 and 40 bucks to walk in the pit gate.. i hate goin to nascar races at NHMS.. its just to damn expensive.. bit i get flack for spendin about 5 grand or so on a nice vacation with my wife and son at disney for 2 weeks.. friends say you can spend that dough at the races and support local racing.. well i would rather give the mouse my money and have fun in someplace rather than NH.. i love to travel i used to like sat night racin but it is just to pricey.. and i have more fun with the family and seein the look on my 7yr olds face... oh well just a minor lil rant.. continue on your day folks...

I am envious of your screwed up priorities.

I have to be in Michigan, although I do like the race tracks here more than there ;)

You also could have helped the local CA economy by sending said 5 grand to that wack-job preacher so he can predict the NEXT end of the world. I keep my money as local as possible but there's no Cedar Point in Michigan.

I sold a bunch of textbooks, some video games, a pair of off-road motorcycle pants and my bike and I am trying to sell a computer monitor and a couple lamps to buy parts for my Spitfire.

family time isn't screwed up priorities, especially if you dont enjoy the things they're saying you should be doing.

Even if Mich would have won the Mich-Ohio War, you still would have not gotten Sandusky.

Cedar Point is about 5 miles from my house and I have not been inside the park in nearly 10 years.

Cedar Fair, the parent company of Cedar Point does own Michigan's Adventure Amusement Park in Muskegon, MI if that is more "local" for you.

Similar to me. I live about 10 minutes from Six Flags Great America. In 21 years, I've been there 3 times.

I'm not--only because I have no desire for kids, but that said--the racing mojo can leave us. It happens. Life happens.

I used to count the days before I'd pull my car out of storage for the summer. Now, I'm doing it mainly because I need a spare while I get the AC fixed on my beater.

No desire anymore to get up early and stand out on the blistering tarmac for 8-9 hours at and auto-x. This was inconceivable 10 years ago.

I'll do something motorsport-related this summer, but I have enough other stuff on my plate that my life doesn't revolve around it anymore.

I get some of the same stuff man...

I love to travel as much as I love cars. Sometimes the two overlap and it turns out great but lately Ive taken alot of flak for going on relaxing vacations. I tell my friends, when they start doing my job, then they will understand.

At least I know I'm not the only one. My one working classic is still in storage. (see avetar for what it is). And if I autocross, it will be with my club only, which I'm not really active in anymore, anyway.

We perfer spending money on travel. And my new hobby is growing food.

More than likely, we will sell one of my classic projects by the end of the summer.

We used to get flack from others about travelling so much, but we remind them that we chose not to have kids, which has resulted in extra time and money for us. On the other hand, they get the benefits of kids (which is a benefit for most). It all depends on what you want.

Congrats. A lot of people I know don't give their families a second thought as they chase their own interests careers ect. Even thouigh my father worked a lot when we were young he always told us we were his biggest job. Any time off he had he spent with us. I didn't really realize it then but looking back the time we spent/spend together is better than any toy or gadget that our parents could have given us.

We planned an entire vacation around the factory tour map on the back of the Cape Cod Potato Chip bag one winter.

Chicago to Buffalo straight across to Bangor, Maine down the entire coast to New York City back to Chicago. 3,500-4,000 miles + 13 states + 2 weeks summer = Family Fun!

Pretty much the same here. Occasionally I want to go autocross or do a track event, but my life no longer revolves around it like it did for 20 plus years. For about 10 years of that I was either driving or crewing somewhere about 30 to 40 weekends out of the year.

Now I spend time around the house doing landscaping or remodeling the garage, playing with the grandson (when did I get that old) and sometimes working on the 240. I'll still do a few automotive related things this summer, but my time is no longer dedicated to it.

Worse yet though, I've been really wanting a truck lately. In the past I've always wanted to drive something cool and small, preferably with 2 seats. Since I picked up the G35 I tell everyone it's my midlife crisis car since I had most of the ones people buy for that. The truck thing is out of the blue though...I feel a need to haul things!

Figuring out your priorities isn't hard. Do you know what's important? A single finger. And if it isn't a finger, it's a small cow.

So bring home a small cow today.
