Its not overly original, but my Challenge car 87 Firebird has pretty much earned the name fireturd. Crapped out interior, a combination of Van Nuys original water based blue, primer gray, and somewhere in its life, the roof was painted black...poorly. Oh, and it had a305 LG4 engine.
I still wonder why I'm building it for 2010, but then I remember, its a hardtop with crank windows, manual locks, and next to no options. And I've wanted a third-gen F-body for a long time, and the wife doesn't like camaros.

For a few months I was given a loaner 1989 Red Devil Formula 500 car to work on and potentially race. I'm 6'1", 190 lbm and wear a 10-1/2 wide shoe. The car was obviously made for a much smaller driver; so I named it "Grunt" after the sounds I made getting in and out.
After spending too many nights carefully cutting out obstructions which prevented my feet from working the pedals, I decided to buy a bigger F500 car. The new car is a 1995 Phantom and it will fit a 6'3" fat driver with size 13 feet; so I fit with room to spare.
These cars use a 2-stroke snowmobile engine and often smoke a bit while warming up. I named the new car "Smokey" because of this and also because I'm friends with the owner of the "Bandit" hill climb car.

My last car was a red turbo Volvo sedan and we called it the "Red Rocket" because often when the car was turned off the turbo would spool down and make a sound "like a spaceship".
I just call my RX8 "the Mazda."

Out of the cars I've owned, only one managed to get a nickname and that was my first, a 73 Pinto station wagon that became known as the Taco Wagon. Got it's name from the fact that if you wanted to sit up front, the passenger was kicking numerous bags from Taco Cabana out of the way. I tried naming my other cars, but nothing stuck. Tried to name the Mustang, but I gave up explaining it's name (Nooky Booky after series of P-51's flown by Leonard Carson of the 357th Fighter Group in WWII). Maybe should've just called her Sally.

"Tokyo Rose" (a.k.a. "Rose"). Why? My locost is pretending to be a 1930's Japanese car, but it's not one. (Remember, the woman tried as tokyo rose was not the traitorous broadcaster she was accused of being.)

My 9C1 ran great for the first two years I had it. It was affectionately termed "The bad ass squad car." But it's fun factor has gone down with it's now lack of reliability. Its now referred to as "That mother-berklying piece of e36 m3," or "What the berkly is wrong, now?" Yes, the expletives are necessary and appropriate.

my 90 cavalier was not so much a performance project as it was a project to keep the 2.2 liter pushrod I4 and 3 speed slushbox running.
It was dubbed the cava-lazy

I installed a baja kit & sunroof on a 70 Beetle using a Dremil tool and a hack saw. My girlfriend, at the time, called it Abby...normal.

My old 81 primer gray Camaro with polka dots (red, yellow, green and blue of various sizes) was "The Beast" and my 84 full size pickup was "The Pig", other than that, nothing has been name-worthy yet.
