I'm posting now from inside my 'rolla. If you're lucky enough to own a car with a gentleman's vent, I highly recommend that you take 10 minutes to really fine-tune it. Once you get it dialed in just right it's SO much better. You'll regret that you didn't do it sooner. That is all.

I have no idea what a gentleman's vent is.

It's a vent under the steering column that some cars have.

Yep, you don't realize how important it is until you accidentally flip it closed on a hot day.

I know that's a late 80s/early 90s Toyota because the 4th pedal and gentleman's vent vanes are identical to mine. Hachiroku I guess?

Hmm, never had a car with one of those. At least not that I've noticed.

pretty much every older GM (80's and older) with AC has a vent there. they don't usually put out enough air to really notice, but i guess it can't hurt...

With a bit of creative ducting, you can easily vent the other way... Really cuts down on pit-stops on a long road-trip.

Thank you GRM. I never did know what those were called. And knowing is half the battle.

do those really make a difference? I never noticed my crotch sweating any more than the rest of me on a hot summer's day

Haven't worked in the 100 degree Florida heat, have you? It's NICE to have ice cold air blowing down there to dry it out faster.

Do these work for heat as well? Which setting do you have to have it on the HVAC for heat to come out of there? I like my gentlemen's sausage to be warm.

the vent doesn't care what the temp is set at- on GM cars, it's just a vent that's cut into the tube that leads to the vent over by the driver's side door.. as long as you have it set to blow air out the dash vents, you will get air out of that vent.

'69 Pontiac Grand Prix. Arizona. Still remember it quite fondly. When cars were cars (400 ci), schweddy balls wasn't an ice cream, R22 was cheap, and a car's A/C could refrigerate a small house.

Oh, yeah.
