Zappos has good selection, reasonable prices, free shipping plus free return shipping up to a year. I ordered boots at 4 pm and they were delivered by noon the next day, that's pretty darn good for free.

Hell, I'm grossed out putting on my OWN workboots, let alone someone else's.

Noting that they are not exactly loosing money, they seem to charge enough for the shoes to cover the cost of shipping.... Kinda interesting if you think about it.

The local that I go out of my way for is food. Knowing that most mass made food is slanted toward either shipping or mass of production, I think it's good to get food as it's intended to taste, by smaller farms who make a decent living.

The subject of used shoes made me think of the Twilight Zone episode "Dead Man's Shoes."

    (Season 3 Episode 83 January 19th, 1962)

Used shoes are a bad idea anyway, are you asking for foot, knee, back pain? I can send a guy over with a lead pipe for free.

Wow! Really? Usually I have to fork out big money for a guy like that.

You guys will happy to know that now I've wasted EVERYONES time!

I decided that if I'm really worried about a $75 deposit on new awesome boots and I'm worried about losing $55 on ebay boots...that maybe I shouldn't be purchasing boots at all.

I'm pretty damn broke, and my time should be spent looking for jobs...not buying boots and wasting all your precious time.

Oh and part of the reason I'd like a pair of said boots is because I'd like something to cover the ankle on my motorcycle...but currently my motorcycle needs about $150 in charging system parts...which happens to be the cost of a pair of boots...so...yea
