I hate letting go of cars, so rarely do. I'm looking to put up another building for storage in the next year or so. There are several I sold in the past and wish I had kept.

I have only ever sold two cars... a 911 and a VW Superbeetle. The rest either lost their lives to accidents, or literally returned to the ground around my ears and needed to be recycled into "newer" projects.
I think my current Fiat has parts from my previous 4 spiders

Back in the mid '70s, I had an Audi Fox that was driving me crazy by the time I sold it....little "bits" kept falling off or failing. Yet, I almost cried when we drove to the Ford dealer so I could trade it in on something more reliable....a '76 Pinto MPG. It was like going from a wild roller coaster ride to the kiddie merry-go-round.

I miss my '91 Integra mainly because it would have made a good auto-x/track beater... but there were so many little things going wrong with it that its days as a daily driver were over for me.
The '98 A4 Avant. Occassionally... when I'm pulling onto a hwy in my TDI and I realize I need to be going much faster than the car will accelerate... and leave a plume of soot behind me (yeah... it looks like I need new injectors...).
'90 E150 conversion van. Yep. Miss it just about every day...
'97 M3... sometimes... lets face it... cherry-condition, never abused M3's don't grow on trees...
'93 Passat VR6. Nope. Toasted and danced when I saw that POS's tail lights for the last time... hated that car...
'78 Spit 6. Hmm... not really... I miss the money I lost buying it and then selling it...
edit: oh yeah... I really, REALLY miss letting my mothers (sort of passed down to me) '71 Demon get towed away to the junk yard... if only I'd known how much rusty, generic, /6 automatic cars in worse condition would sell for 20+ years later...

ive never sold a car, but i did trade in my 95 big block (1.2L) geo metro on my 88 M3 13 years ago and i sort of missed it but mostly because it was my first car. and i have no plans to ever sell the M3 if at all possible as i know i'd regret it.
i already miss my 88 cherokee that i'm parting out. if i had space and money i'd just love to cut it up into a trail rig
but i would be cutting it up to build what would essentially be an XJ based scrambler, so i think i'll just buy a scrambler some day instead.

I have regretted selling a couple of my cars.
The first was my '78 Camaro, it was my first car and I loved it. That thing was a beast and loads of fun to drive, hell on gas though. The last time I saw it though the guy had given it a new paint job and was taking really good care of it I'm happy to say. That was at least some comfort.
The second was my 944 Porsche. I babied that car and would spend days detailing it for concourse events and the like. The last time I saw it the car was TRASHED. The paint was all scratched there were dents all over the interior had trash all over and sheepskin covers on the seats. When I saw it I was on a date with my ex and I had a key for the car still in my truck. I honestly had considered for a split second taking the car. Thankfully the ex kept me from going completely nuts. I'm sure that car is in a junk yard in Portland now.

I regret selling my 72 ford courier. It was the family truck when I got it and drove the doors off it. Replaced the engine 3 times due to learning experiences and where not to by engines, but it was fun. Had to adjust the brakes every 2 weeks so that you could stop, but it was a blast to drive. If I had the chance I would have bought it back instead of the pinto and done the same thing. Drop in a V8 and make it go really fast.

I should have ditched the evil woman (now ex-wife) that said, "We need a car with more than two seats." instead of the car.
I loved that car. A week or so ago, I saw one locally on CL. Super clean, no winters (mine had cancer), broke motor. If'n I had the spare coin, I'd be rebuilding a rotormotor right now.

There are only two that I regret letting go. A 70 International 1200D and a 87 Fiero GT. Oddly, there were the only blue vehicles that I've owned.

I have regrets over incomplete projects. I sell them for a reason, either I was in over my head, my abstact engineering does not fit real life or something. I don't do it lightly, but months or years later I console myself with "You sold it for a real reason".
In hindsight things are always a bit different, clearer or I forgot about all the bad, but I still have regrets.
I regret selling a 1964 352 4-speed Galaxie convertible when I was 17.
There's quite a list.
