I have a good friend whose boyfriend told her that he didn't see them together in a year. And he has been a bit of shiny happy person lately. She wants a more serious relationship. But today she went to his house. What would you tell her?

Stop playing games. It'll mess with both of their heads. The dude doesn't see it working out, yet she goes over there. I can see once or twice to see if things can be worked out, but if its done stop going over to said house. Be polite, but make a clean break.

I'd tell her she was being stupid. Once.

If she doesn't listen, watch it burn. Point fingers. Say "I told you so" every 2 hours.

Not really.... but it sounds like you're dealing with a glutton for punishment. Or he PIITB just the way she likes.

i'd step up and knock the bottom out of that thang, which is really what you want anyway.

dudes don't have chick friends, we just have chicks we tolerate until we bang them.

Yeah. I agree with Apex. PIITB. And that's not advice for you to give to her. That's advice for you.

Harry: You realize of course that we could never be friends.
    Sally: Why not?
Harry: What I'm saying is — and this is not a come-on in any way, shape or form — is that men and women can't be friends because the sex part always gets in the way.
Sally: That's not true. I have a number of men friends and there is no sex involved.
    Harry: No you don't.
    Sally: Yes I do.
    Harry: No you don't.
    Sally: Yes I do.
Harry: You only think you do.
Sally: You say I'm having sex with these men without my knowledge?
Harry: No, what I'm saying is they all want to have sex with you.
    Sally: They do not.
    Harry: Do too.
    Sally: They do not.
    Harry: Do too.
    Sally: How do you know?
Harry: Because no man can be friends with a woman that he finds attractive. He always wants to have sex with her.
Sally: So you're saying that a man can be friends with a woman he finds unattractive?
Harry: No, you pretty much want to nail 'em too.
Sally: What if they don't want to have sex with you?
Harry: Doesn't matter because the sex thing is already out there so the friendship is ultimately doomed and that is the end of the story.
Sally: Well, I guess we're not going to be friends then.
    Harry: Guess not.
Sally: That's too bad. You were the only person that I knew in New York.

Sometimes it is better to observe than to participate. I'm not advising you to tell her that, I'm telling you.

Observe. Be the shoulder to cry on when it finally gets through her head. But ONLY if you actually want to PIITB. Otherwise, just observe. Now. During. After. You don't want to be burdened with someone that has that little common sense.

She's confused. Go find one that has her head together. You'll be happier and you'll end up being more attractive to her because you're no longer her emotional tissue to use up and dispose of once she's feeling better.

Some women are like banks. They want to loan you "money" when you least need it. Demonstrate you don't need "money" and the offers of credit will come rolling in.

No that is the answer, A nice twisty road with a miata and the top down, (vocal stimulus) driven in anger(physical stimulus). Puts a grin on your face every time(I need a cigarette sensation). Sex, not necissarily so. The other half of a relationship, about 50/50 well more like 80/20, mines more like 20/80 lately but hey u have rough times. BUT the MIATA! every time I would twist the key on my old one, it would plaster a grin on my face.

I don't know..I've got several really good friends that are women.

But you're right about the other part..if any of `em gave me a chance, I'd jump right on it.

Wrong. Some times we hang around chicks, and without us realizing it, they become our "sisters."

What? Do you have dirty thoughts about your sister?

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but... four years back I came to a fork in the road and went down the path that I thought was right. Recently the other girl came back into the picture. Looking back some of the most fun of my adult life was spent with this person and just being around her was more fun than I have had with the current g/f in some time.

In all honesty I was/am happy with the current g/f but the thought of what coulda, shoulda, woulda been keeps going through my head making me realize that the happiness I feel with the current g/f maybe isn't real. Any insights or advice?

Totally dump her. How old are you? You have plenty of time left. If you are questioning your feelings now, its probably not the right relationship.
