    Yep. Them's the business practices I have issues with. From a moral standpoint, I think they're questionable, and from a utopia-spread-technology standpoint I think they're reprehensible.

    The business man in me says: Damn. Wish I'd thought of that.

    Again, I see the fasion side, but I also see that better Apple products did make a lot of better, cheaper products. To the point that had there not been a fasion side to apple, it may drop. Music players to music players- there are not a huge amount of differences, when I shop. But it sees as if the iThing is just enough better. Android is arguably a better platform, but Apple seems to exectute better.

    So of the premium, part is fasion, no doubt, but part seems to be a better product.

    And remember, I have NO apple products at all. So it's not as if I'm a fanboi. I just appreciate how Jobs has changed the market. A lot. And to my benfit, as a customer and a employee.

    I was genuinely sad to hear of the loss. I've been a big fan of their products and services for years, and I don't feel ashamed or fanboyish to say they changed the way I do things.

    I couldn't play sports worth a crap as a kid, but I could make an Apple II sing like a Stradivarius. I can say for a fact that learning to program at a young age made a huge impact on my learning from then on. This morning I noticed just how many Apple products I have around me at all times. I'm no fan boi and never buy the next new thing out, but I appreciate those things that make my life easier and little more fun. Thanks Steve, for making life a little more fun.

    Fair enough, and I dont necessarily disagree, I just think a lot of people (some present company excluded) hoist jobs up on a pedestal for fousting his regime upon us. Take away the morally questionable practicies, and you have a genius.

    ...same can be said of other leaders. Some of them started wars. Take away the war, and they did the impossible, on an unimaginable scale, changing humanity forever, with only their brilliance as fuel. Add the war back in, and you have an evil dictator...Im just sayin

    Thank you, Mr. Jobs, for the Macintosh, which changed the world by introducing desktop publishing, and as a result, made it possible for this very magazine to survive and thrive.

    I was a late adopter of apple technology but my wife and I love her mac book and the iPad is a fun toy, but I agree with several above about apple's business practices. They are very aggressive about "protecting" their stuff but everyone in the media and the hollywood idiots always root for the "little" tech guy versus the big evil microsoft empire. Having said that, apple has always seemed to have the cool factor going for them and Jobs was a big part of that. It will be interesting to see how the progress in the next 5 years

    As far as fruits software tech goes, I will have to say its refreshing how everything plays nice together in the same sandbox. I do admire their operating system very much. I wish the geeks at Microsuck would pay attention...

    Topeka, KS — Always looking for publicity, the haters of Westboro Baptist Church announced via iPhone that they'll protest late Apple founder Steve Jobs' funeral.

    As the world remembers Jobs as a visionary who changed our world, members of Wesboro say they plan to protest his funeral because "he had a huge platform; gave God no glory & taught sin."

    The Topeka-based hate church, which is infamous for protesting military funerals, made the announcment on Twitter.

    Jobs passed away after a long battle against pancreatic cancer.

    "The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come," said former rival Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft.

    Wow. Just wow.

    Exactly. They are just not worth the effort anymore. Minimize their exposure to the media and use the existing methods for keeping them away from the funerals and they'll die of their own internal politics once the money starts to dry up.

    When asked to stop lying their collective butts off, WBC leaders admitted that it was because Steve Jobs was really famous and that it would get people to pay attention to them for a little while to help validate the empty sham that is their lives.

    There was a story told last night as I was watching the coverage on TWIT. Steve Jobs was once long ago offered $5000 to write a game, he went to Wozniak and told him he would pay him $500 to write a game without telling him that he was getting $5000 for the game.

    If it's true it shows what kind of person he was. Smart, hell yes but not a very good person.

    I love my iPhone, it has allowed me to spend more time doing things online while spending less time in front of a computer. I get things done a minute here and 5 minutes there throughout my day. I use an iMac at work and I don't feel the same way about it. It works but its doesn't change my life in any way and it doesn't do anything that my Windows PC at home does not do.
