you're only supposed to use the ether to seat the bead, not to inflate the tire..

The joys of open differentials. I think he hit third gear--do you have any idea how fast that tire was spinning! It was probably just way over its speed rating and being overheated rapidly. Cool video. I appreciate how thorough the camera man was in documenting everything. He covered all the angles!

it's amazing what can happen. It makes you think, hat if tgat happened hen putting air in the tire? No those cages for putting the wheel-tire from large trucks and rigs make sense for if they explode! Even worse with the split rims!

Keep in mind it was a tire failure that killed Eric Medlan. The tire tore radially and basically the diameter change as the wheel spun caused a severe enough vibration to bring roughly 100Gs into the cockpit. Tires are dangerous - we ask them to do a lot.
