Am I the only one here who doesn't have a friggin clue what twillight is? Never heard of it before this thread. For the record I use whatever bar of soap is laying on the side of the tub. Being the only male in the house, that's my only option, unless I want to smell like a piece of fruit. I'm just thankful they buy me men's deodorant when they go shopping for such things.

I have no clue either. We must be "out of the loop".

It's some movie that involves vampires that all the kids go crazy for these days. That's the extent of what I know. Unfortunately, there are posters all over Wal Mart and occasional ads on TV. You can't unsee it.

Is it considered a "chick" show? Do I get my "girly" card revoked for not knowing what the heck it is either?

It's a series of adolescent romance-y novels. Basically, vampires in high school with normal people. Only the vampires can be out in the day because they put on sparkly sunblock. And I think there's something about them not actually having to drink blood.
Revolves around a dubiously chaste romance between a teenage girl and a centuries old (I think) vampire, who appears to be roughly her age. There's a love triangle with a werewolf in there too.
And I know all of this because I teach junior high.

Only if you're 14.

A vampire that doesn't drink blood, and goes out in the day?
That's ludicrous.

Takes the realism out of the whole thing

My daughter went to one of the Twilight movies with a bunch of her school friends, came home somewhat underwhelmed and went back to her animes (she loves that stuff). I guess that's a good thing and I should be happy.

Probably. Especially if she's into Study Ghibli films:

Realism? REALISM???How in the name of anything can that be realism? We all know there's only zombies, and not-zombies...none of the vampire E36 M53 is anywhere near real. Only zombies....NYG95GA wrote:
