I'm curious what people's opinion on depreciation rate would be for the skylines. 1990 gtr. This guy is asking sticker price but I don't know what I should take away. Only 52k on it almost perfect condition

What the heck is sticker price on a 25 year old Nissan? Like he's trying to charge what it would have been new in 1990?

Sticker price when it was new in Japan in 1990? Which Yen-> USD exchange rate are you using? What's the airspeed of an unladen swallow...

$25k is about what a 1990 GT-R selling for currently after some unknown does the importation. You can actually import one for less or have someone like Japanese Classics do it for you and save yourself the headache.

Kanaric has a thread on importing his GTS-T but I'm coming up short on finding it right now.

Edit: Found it!

I'm following this company on Instagram, JapaneseClassicsLLC that look to be based out of Richmond, VA, importing cars under the 25 year rule? They have listed a maroon 1990 R32 GTR for $19,995. Is that what you're talking about?

Hard to determine what the depreciation is going to be for something like that, a lot of the cost is due to shipping and customs, how many are left to be imported? how many will be imported? how many people would drop that kind of coin on something like that?

While that looks like a nice car from the ad, that also seems to be about top dollar asked for one right now in the US. There are ones for sale for less. Japanese Classics was going to be my suggestion for a price comparison also. They seem to have a lot of past sales listed on their site to sue for comparison.

That's pre-25yr rule pricing IMHO.....

Are there any really nice A list JDM cars left to import? I would have figured that that the Aussies, Kiwis and Canadians would have taken all the Skylines worth having by now.

Edit: forgot to mention, that craigslist car is crackhead priced.

Are you going to ask for donations in this thread also?

I don't understand the fascination, lots of home grown cars for that $ here already.

Ok so I just went and saw the car today. There is a lot more damage then you see in the photos. especially to the front bumper. The frame is a little rusty, the brakes squeak. apparently this kid didn't know he was asking way too much. But other than a few things it runs beautifully. Pics here. what price would you say?

I wish there was some way that I could donate money to kids like you. The sad poor children who cannot afford Japanese halo cars from a bygone era. WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN..

Tough to say from the photos but that would be a $5000-$10k car in British Columbia, depending on condition. And $10k would be a tough sell because there'd be three others just like it for similar money.

Nothing this guy does is within bounds until he takes down the gofundme page IMHO. It's still out there, still begging for money alongside people that are also asking for money for people with cancer and other E36 M3 that's far more important than this guy getting a Skyline. His bridge is burned for me.

So you wasted the seller's time today looking at a car you don't have the means to buy? Hope he didn't let you drive it.

So I clicked on the photos... If you zoom in on the center cap of the wheel it says "We produced with spartan air".

Is that some funny Japenglish or am I the funny one for not comprehending it as it's written?
