Yes, I know it is big and heavy...but if you do an E-bay search you will see that you can get this V12 Uber-convertible for $15K. And not with 300,000 miles either, I'm talking about 30-50,000 miles in excellent shape.
If I had no kids and did a lot of traveling, I would skip the hassle of flying anywhere within 600 miles...and take the 600.
A friend just bought an '01 CL600, the coupe version of the SL, from a dealer with similar miles for similar money. Holy heck that car is smooth and fast. Makes his 90 mile each way commute much nicer, and he's getting 25 mpg too.
I was talking to a guy about those... He said they were made for the autobahn, and you really had to jump on them to quote "Clean the gunk out"
