Srsly, that's totally crazy. I send 200 text messages a year.

Just asked my fiancee, who has an original iPhone (I have a "dumb" phone, it only makes phone calls...ha!), she says she uses around 3 gig, but doesn't worry about it because she has the now-unobtainium unlimited plan from AT&T.

I'm on Verizon using a Palm Pre which included the Mobile Hotspot. Data used directly through the phone IS unlimited, I stream Pandora or Radio Time between 8 to 12 hours a day. Data "tethered" through the Hotspot to my laptop is limited to 5GB per month. I dropped my cable internet temporarily and used Verizon and my girlfriend's internet service and never went over the 5GB limit.

I don't have a clue. The wife hasn't complained about being over though on a 5gb/mo plan with VZW and my Droid X.

I went over two gigs in a week. I don't use the slingbox anymore without a wifi signal anymore. Without doing that, I use MAYBE a gigg. I user the phone ALOT. Keep in mind you can use wifi. If you go over with att, it is ten dollars for an extra gig.
