Cool! And yes, 2nd gen's are fun cars. I still have a ton of work to do on mine, but I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The Bandit Run was in town a few weeks ago at the local Hooters. A bunch of us went down and mingled amongst the black and gold Americana. As for the Year One car, the styling might offend purists, but I can confirm that Year One has made a concerted effort to tweak the handling on that package to modern day standards. And the interior is gorgeous in person.

I'm ready to buy the nastiest 2nd gen F-body I can find and build a Bandit from Hell.

I gotta learn to use the quote function better. I didn't say the Year one car looked like a toy! I only wanted to point out what the car was and where to find it. There's a guy here in the Detroit region SCCA that autocrossed a blue one for many years and did very well with it. I remember watching him do a long, tire smoking drift around a big hairpin, may not have been the fasted way around, but it was a wonderful sight to behold! Yes, one of these cars is on my 'bucket list'

I haven't seen him on here or any of the other boards I frequent for a while, but there's a member here (RadCapz, I believe, NOT A TA on other boards) that has an absolutely nasty red 70 Firebird that he road races. He has a GRM windshield banner too!

I will attend the Bandit Run someday before I kick the bucket.
