Silly people, it's global "Climate Change" now.

Conservatives, of which I’m one, look like total idiots when they dismiss the prospects of human induced climate change out right. Liberals, however, display equivalent idiocy when they wax pseudoscientific dribble that’s little more than an antidotal cluster Berkley of confusing correlation for causality, making predictions based on wild extrapolations, and now, hedging their bet by expanding the definition of proof to any atmospheric anomaly they can find.

    In my opinion:

Is the climate changing…of course it is, the only constant is change.

Are we causing the change…we’re probably playing a significant role.

What’s the relationship between GHG emission and climate change…not well underatood. It’s possible that the oceans are capable of sequestering all the carbon we can release for the foreseeable future. It’s also possible that we’ve already passed a phase transition and regardless of what we do at this point, we’re in for big trouble.

My GUESS is that our actions are significantly increasing the risk of our climate falling out of equilibrium and so I would like to see us be better stewards of the planet.

Unfortunately though, we’ve gone from good intentions to abject corruption faster than a Miata can carve through the twisty section of a Solo II course.

Cap & Trade, AB32, The Kyoto Protocol, etc. = Transference of wealth, growth of government, & in most cases, a net increase in GHG emissions.

Health care reform = Transference of burden, growth of government, & in most cases, a net decrease in quality of service.

I won’t buy into something just to appear compassionate or receptive to change.

Any one who has researched climate change knows that the last 300 years have been uncharacteristicaly stable, as mean temperature is concerned. Huge swings of temperature (affectionately called ice ages) are the norm for our planet. Humans are just spoiled from the stability in recent times.

I don't know, he is a bit of a conspiracy theorist but I get a bit of a Mel Gibson "Conspiracy Theory" vibe from him. I think there is some truth in the crazy. My my hat XL.

and in the 30's there were orange groves in Jacksonville Florida, where did they go? To warm for the glaciers = Global Warming (Oh No!) Too cold for oranges in Jacksonville Florida = Global Climate Change? Huh? Can't have both.....

I saw your new word, JB.

What's the matter, iggy, you lose your hat and need another? The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy (TM Hillary) out to get you? Without your hat, they'll reprogram you for sure. You already don't want to kill babies anymore. Next thing you know, you'll be driving a CO2 spewing engine for FUN on the weekends.

    Dear Al Gore:

I live in Mississippi. We got snow and sleet today. It's March. This isn't right. Please quit teasing us using the phrase "Global Warming". Climate Change isn't better: I liked the old climate this week before this sudden cold snap.

    Thanks!

Don't bank on that. Hard working laborers who believe in pulling yourself up by your bootstraps, have strong family values, admire military service and go to church on Sunday? Sounds pretty old school conservative to me. Not Republican mind you, cuz they all suck. But conservative

Yeah, well, be nice and I'll call them off.

So, made it in to work today. Glad I parked the Rolla at the top of the driveway and had the Graspics on. The drive in was a 12 on my rating system. I count each wiped out car on the way in. Just sitting on the side doesn't count. It has to be sunk down to it's axles in the median, upside down, on its side with the front end ripped off, etc. 12. Not a record, but a significant number none-the-less. Most looked to be from last night.
