So trying to watch this movie fried my laptop (literally). I downloaded the movie and decided to watch it with the wife. Hooked up the laptop to the TV and then went to plug in the power adapter into the laptop. At that point I had an arc (yes an arc) between the power adapter and the laptop. Almost electrocuted me! Fried the power adapter but the laptop still works. However, I think the input for the power adapter is fried too!

Damn they are getting serious...

Going to watch it tonight when the girlfriend gets home. Thought it might help inspire us for the Olds project.

Ok we watched it tonight instead. funny thing is it was over 100 degrees today so we spent quite a bit of time inside. We watched the first 2 Mad Max movies and then worked on the Olds. After dinner we watched Love the Beast.
Really made me miss my old Camaro.

I liked it. My wife didn't think it was all that good, especially the end. I never really saw any of his shows or paid any attention to him, then we watched the new Star Trek and there he was. He did a good job in it. Damn Romulans. Always mucking about in the space time continium.

My wife actually enjoyed it a bit, probably almost as much as myself. It probably helps that her daily up until a couple years ago was a 74 Valiant...

Thanks guys! I've been wanting to see this. I don't usually watch the nascar network, and would have missed it if you hadn't said anything.
I've been wanting to see Love The Beast for months.

I stumbled across it last night while flipping through the next few days of speed programming and griping that they can show 12 hours a day of wrecked, but not show the runoffs, then I saw this show. DVR is set.

You know...not taking anything away from Patrick Dempsey.....Eric Bana would've been a very good choice for "The Art of Racing in the Rain".
Just my opinion of course.

I had the chance to see the movie a couple months ago and really dug it. Bana seems like a true hardcore. A lot of folks don't know his early days of entertainment were as a standup/sketch comic. He's just too darn good looking, though, and gets all of the brooding hunk roles—although he was one of the real high spots of Funny People.
I've been emailing his management people trying to get something together for the magazine. Gotten some interested response, but he's been promoting a string of expensive movies lately and a 60,000 circulation car mag is oddly on the list somewhere below The View (although slightly above The Wendy Williams show) in his promotional rounds. Hopefully we'll be able to hook up at some point.

Vlc is awesome, though it won't get around the region setting on a DVD drive.

Clarkson was annoyingly right, again. I'd love an XB as much as a vintage racing Mustang, but he summed it up: "Some cars should just be mounted on a plinth".
But then, some things aren't supposed to make sense. The sight of that XB, and the sounds of that engine, negate any part of the fact it can't negotiate a turn in the rain. They sure did get it to corner flat though.

My wife and I watched it last night and both thought it was great. As JG said, he is hardcore, much more so than I've ever realized. The early parts showed him behind the wheel of several interesting cars. I wish they had explained the catastrophic failure in the yellow Carrera though. Bana comes off as a pretty normal guy who has maintained several close relationships with boyhood friends, thanks to his car.
Very neat movie!
