If you're only getting your news from one source, it's going to be biased. However, the anti-Fox News mantra doesn't fly unless you are a committed lefty blindly following the propaganda. Fox has the highest ratings, which means (do I really need to explain this?) more people watch it. People tend to only 'purchase' products they believe in. So, the majority of people believe Fox is offering up superior news coverage.
Since the Bill Maher leftists believe anyone who doesn't agree with them is an idiot, I can see how your Fox News bias is created. Thus, my observation of narrow-mindedness makes sense.

Capitalism and Christianity aren't mutually exclusive. One thing to consider is Christians don't "own" anything. All that they have is held in trust from God. They are simply stewards during their time on earth.

A Christian must still work hard to shed even a little of God’s light in a capitalist society. But his task is likely to be much harder in a collectivist system."

nope... I think this just goes to show you the nice little buckets you want to place everyone in to make sure that the world is black and white and your arguments work, are not accurate. I'll also argue that I'm more of a capitalist than you once again. But I won't go on to prove it because this discussion doesn't need proof just conjecture.

now this is an interesting thought. I'd actually say that yes, the worst of the lot can define the lot. One of the things that I am becoming acutely aware of as I get older is that perception is reality in all groups and in all forms.
Look at our discussions about toyota, it's actual quality, GM, it's actual quality, perceived brand value, perceived brand quality and how old sins seem to die hard.
Marketing, advertising, sales, public relations, and politics are, in pragmatic practice, more about guiding your message than the actual message. I'm interested in doing a stint in marketing job soon.
The worst of any group is generally the one the opposition singles out to use to tar all of them with the same brush. It's some more of that marketing crap which all comes down to spouting bullE36 M3 to achieve a desired result. Me, I don't think I could sleep well knowing I was a purveyor of bullE36 M3.
About capitalism vs. socialism:
Capitalism is where one is paid (that's called 'profit') for performing a service or providing for a need or want. While it can certainly be abused by the worst practicioners, it does more to bring out the hard worker in people. Of course it's based in self interest, after all self preservation is one of the strongest of human instinct urges.
Some will be better at capitalism than others. That's merely a reflection of society as a whole; black, white and all sorts of shades of gray in between.
OTOH, socialism (which is what the worst of the left espouses as a lofty ideal) is designed to make all equal, i.e. everyone is the same shade of gray. While this appears to be a lofty ideal at first glance, in reality it crushes the best of the human spirit by removing opportunity.
So which one would I rather live with? Give me the opportunity to better myself. If I blow it, it's no one's fault but mine.
