The threatening dog thread got me thinking about a problem we're having, though much less dangerous. The issue for us is several neighbors who are content to let their cats roam all day and night. As a multiple time cat owner, I love the things, but only when they are indoor only pets. Having other people's cats roam through my yard, crapping it it, walking on and scratching my cars, chasing/eating song birds, etc is pissing me off.

    So far, I've tried:

    1. Talking to the neighbors
    2. Water guns
    3. Chasing them out of my yard

None of these have worked. Any suggestions?

Here is a grassroots style how-to video of the system a guy put together to stop cats from pissing on his car. I think someone posted this here about a year back.

    Pit bulls. Worked for me.

I had a similar problem. They didn't bother the cars but they did jump up in the window sills and bother our 3 indoor only cats.

They have all been relocated so the problem has been solved for now.

    Works for this?

They may be small, but foxes will kill cats. Want the scent of something bigger? Google says you can also buy coyote urine. Coyotes kill LOTS of cats in the suburbs.

Cats do not like the smell of a large predator. Just be sure not to spill it on yourself, cuz it stinks.
