Saw it last night. Awesome. They had me from the opening, damn the implausible plot points, and when that red shirt went off the edge in the first landing party, I cheered. (Sorry, red shirt guy.) The whole thing flew by, in the best popcorn-summer-movie sort of way. Margie

the acting was hokey in the original. but so were many series both before, during, and after it (nightrider anybody?) but they generally took on some serious topics and had decent writers
