Just doing a little marketing study.

    1. Do you have a storage shed or garage with exposed wall studs?

    2. Do you have shelves in the shed / garage?

    3. What is the approx weight of items on each shelf?

    Thanks Scott

Hundreds of pounds. The "lighter" of the shelves are 3/4" Plywood cut into 1' wide strips, mounted on the heavy duty braced angle that HD sells. These are mounted every 4'. The heavy shelves are (2) 2x10 (total width of 19") forming the shelves with stacked cinder blocks forming the columns. They are bomb proof.

    Yes, studs.

No, using floor shelving. There are nails in the studs, I use them to hang old racetrack advertising banners.

Don't know, but nothing heavier than a master cylinder.

That may be a bit over the weight limit of my design!

    1. Yes / No
    2. No / Yes
    3. Not much, wrenches, battery charger, small generic socket set, some other rarely used things.

We will be tearing it all down anyway though. I've got plans to build a strong table that folds up to the wall when not in use, so two cars can still go in the garage. But with 1 car you can lay down the table and have a nice sturdy work surface.

    2. Free standing cabinets and shelving, none of it is attached to the walls.

    1. Both

    2. Both

    3. It depends on the shelf. Some hold a couple of bags with packing peanuts (maybe a pound) while others are holding a lot more, maybe up to 100 pounds.

I also have an open ceiling in the garage and throw body panels and other things across the roofing beams.

    1. Counting myself, one exposed stud

    2. Yes

    3. 1 to 700lbs with the average probably somewhere near 10-30lbs but engines, diffs, gearboxes and wheels with slicks do make multiple appearances.
