    Hey all,

so the electric garage door motor wont stop where it supposed too, and the shuttle jams itself under the stop bolt.

I did a little looking, and it seems a common issue for ancient openers like mine (circa 1984?,) some worm gear switch failure that's internal. i have no desire to change, remove or upgrade. GDO's are a pita imo... Soooo, i was thinking about using a a lever switch to hang off the main rail, tripped by the shuttle to make a new "stop" signal, wired off the big open/close button.

any reason this wont work? this isnt a priority, it opens and closes just fine manually, but Mrs. 924guy would like it work again, sooo....
