Just came here to post this.  Apparently he was diagnosed with dementia about 4 years ago.

I need to watch Life of Brian again - it has been a long while since I watched it, but that will make me wish George Harrison was still with us.

His historical books/series were also fantastic (e.g. "Medieval Lives", both book and series).

Dementia is a bad way to go. If a brilliant and creative man like that gets it what hope do we plebs have. You will be missed sir thank you for your contributions to the worlds culture. 

I have always loved Monty Python and all the movies ....

When I am in a bad mood , looking on Youtube for some Python will  get me laughing ,

The most local brewery (have to be specific here in Portland) is playing Life of Brian right now. Forgot how funny it is. Thanks Terry. 

If you didn't know, Netflix has quite a bit of Python material.  Movies, specials, the series, interviews...  Watched Holy Grail again last night and didn't have to dig out the DVD.
