My wife fails to see the awesomeness of Sally Fields and Burt Reynolds in the Bandit movie.  RIP bandit!

Huh, I knew it had to happen, but he wasn't on my radar this way.

Cheers, and thanks, Mr. Reynolds.

Well damn.  The last few years have been hard on old Burt.  He doesn't look like he left anything on the table.

Damn, that was unexpected, RIP.

At least I can look forward to a marathon of awesome silly kickass movies on TV tonight...

Edit: Looks like it was unexpected for him too, news says cardiac arrest.

If I had a car that could do burnouts I'd be doing a big smokey one as I leave work this afternoon.  Instead I'll have to investigate a sideways corner instead.

Screw RIP, I vote for RITS instead (Rest in tire smoke)

As a car nerd, a movie nerd, and a big car movie nerd (also a huge Archer fan), this one stings. 82 is a good run, but it still feels too soon, doesn't it?

Hopefully he and Snowman are keeping that diesel truckin' right now.

Saw him on an episode of Fast n Loud a few years ago. He looked awefully frail then.

Dont forget he also played a pretty bad-ass character in Deliverance.

Deliverance is one of my Top 10 favorite movies.  He could play that hard stuff, but still have swagger and  sense of self-humor for things like:

Ha you beat me to it! The boating scenes in Gator were sweet! White Lightning was also pretty good.

Whether blasting through the bayou out running the law in a cool old Cobia, or in an early 70’s FoMoCo “souped up”boat, he had a cool factor hard to beat.

Don't forget stroker Ace. He was in so many movies that hit to the heart if a car obsessed kid.

But he will always be the bandit. RIP Burt.

82's a damn good run, but I'm sure we all agree it wasn't long enough. Cheers Burt, you son of a gun. You'll be missed!
