The quarter finals and semi finals and third place match were brilliant. But the final was horrible. The Dutch played at best a nasty match and I was glad the Spanish won.

Part of me was rooting for the Dutch. A specific part.
(But yes, that was a pretty bad game.)

They seemed to be a bit rudderless
Sorry.

Yeah, wasn't very enjoyable - I watched it with some of the guys from work and while I'm not a big soccer fan I can appreciate a good game. This one almost wasn't worth the electricity used to power the TV.

THE most interesting part of the World Cup, at least to me, was that German octopus that managed to pick 9 out of 9 winning teams. I wonder if it's available for Lotto or PowerBall picks?

Wasn't impressed by the game either (stayed up until 4:00 AM to watch it at a friend's place here in Jakarta). Dissapointed. If the Dutch had played cleaner, they wouldn't have gotten a red card and wouldn't have been a man down in the last twenty minutes. Maybe then they could have kept that goal out.
What I really want to know is what happened to the North Korean team? Did they all go home as heroes for having 'won' the tournament against all the western imperialist pigs, or were they all quietly lined up and shot and the masses told that the World Cup never happened? I really don't see any other option for them. Well, maybe they were paraded around as heroes and then shot.

The starting striker of the North Korean team got a deal with Bochum in the German Bundesliga.

the soccer team got by Holland a lot easier than the Armada did (they got stuck in ports there). yah, I studied it in HS. the Dutch wars practically bankrupted Phillip II, maybe this is payback.

I was really disappointed in the final, and missed the consolation game, which I now regret after reading the recap, perhaps I will watch it on demand some time.
