Hey guys, what kind of freeway mileage could one expect with a mid 90's through mid '00's 3 series and M3, both with a manual trans and reasonably driven?

My '03 325i (2.5l) gets 22-24 in town, not hypermiling at all. On the freeway it goes up to 25-27, cruising in the upper 70s to 80. If you kept it below 70 I could see you getting 28.

Wife's 1997 328iC with an auto got solidly in the mid-20's in everyday driving. I could see it getting mighty close to 30 with gentle highway cruising at 60-65 mph.

My '98 323i convertible (2.5L) 5spd with 122k mi. gets 28 mpg like clockwork with about 90% hwy miles at 70-80 mph

    I don't know, I don't drive reasonably.

The e92 335i's get 29-30 on the highway. An e46 330i can push a little higher if you know how to drive it.

In my '98 328i, I usually get around 25 in mixed driving, up to 30 highway, but mine has a 3.23 LSD out of an M3. With the stock 2.93 diff I got 1-2 mpg better in regular driving, and as much as 34 on long highway trips.

My '99 328i 5-speed (E46) got a solid 28 mixed without trying. My '02 M3 will do about 20 mixed if I try a little and about 26 highway (75 steady cruise). Both stock.

98 M3 - 27 mpg mixed, mostly highway (actual, measured average) 2004 325it (manual)- around 22-25 mpg, but a lot more city driving. It seems to get nearly 30mpg on road trips though. Both using premium.

99 M3 about 26mpg mostly highway but the car is still new to me so I haven't gotten to the "reasonable driving" phase yet, I still like to put the hammer down too much :)

That's about what I see on mine with a stick shift.

I get 24-25mpg mixed in my 97 M3, and it is driven very enthusiastically. I've gotten as good as 27mpg at a steady 75mph on the highway.
