I hate Mercedes for unleashing this abomination on us. What is the point? It's like the worst of all worlds. The coupe-style roofline tosses out all the rearward visibility, rear headroom and cargo capacity that is the advantage of CUV/SUVs, and it likely has no offroad or rough condition chops thanks to those rubberband tires, but it's still got the huge fatness of an SUV.

Something is definitely wrong. .  Not sure what it is,  black wheels on a white car.  overall wheel/tire diameter,   ride height.   Something is wrong.

Because spending large amounts of money on something with less utility than something far less expensive is one of the most common ways of showing off wealth.  CUVs with coupe rooflines are just one of the many ways to do it.

Guy I worked for in high school taught me that and I’d only ever found one other person who’d heard it. He said it was a military trick.

I went and looked at an old lathe.. It was made in Canada in 1940. The words War Finish were cast into the headstock. Apparently this was done during the war to indicate that the machine was built quickly with no attention to polishing or filling non essential areas. Basically build it, paint it, ship it. The manufacturer cast War Finish into the machine to explain that their machinery wasn’t usually this rough.

TIL that Grabber Green was called Competition Green in Mercury's color chart. Same story for the other Grabber colors.

TIL that the Audi Q5 is just an A4 with highchairs and less headroom.

Note the CLEAN FLOOR.  It's not hard to avoid making a mess.

Til that 2 Live Crew's "Me So Horny" actually lead to a major lawsuit that nearly killed rap music as we know it today.

I mostly knew it from some comedy movies it was used in.

TIL that David Freiburger nearly ordered a Buick Grand National from a dealer, had the paperwork filled out, then bailed on it when he learned that you couldn't order air-conditioning delete.

It gets better/worse.

If you like music, and/or if you enjoy the intracies of copyright law, this is a fascinating video, even though it is literally nothing but somebody talking, with occasional audio samples for illustration.  Which is either ironic or fitting, given the subject material.
