Both the next-gen Xbox and the PS will use AMD hardware.

"Near all time highs" sounds like code for "Sell now before it drops again" to me.
In reply to STM317 :
I fully understand your sentiment. I bought in around 11 bucks, rode it into the low 30's, held it through the recent pullback into the high teens. Tempted to sell, but with all the positive chatter, it's hard to bail now. More so since I don't have anything that looks better, and I've got a fair bit of cash sitting on the sidelines already.
This thing's got legs!

Guess when you started this thread?
Since then, it's lost 13%, gained 19%, lost 18%, and in the last couple of days it's gained 21%. All of that wild up/down ends up being a total gain of 2.08% between 6/10 when this thread was started and today.
Here's the S&P500 for the same time period:
They both dropped significantly on 7/30, and both began to rebound from the drop on 8/5. AMD has had a better rebound than the S&P this week. So, overall the S&P has seen 1.78% gains since you started this thread.
Since AMD is a tech stock, lets compare it to the NASDAQ:
Nasdaq saw pretty similar highs/lows as both AMD and the S&P500 overall. It's up 2.78% since Jun 10th.
So, AMD isn't doing poorly at all in our time frame, but how much of it's performance is related to the nasdaq being up? It's outperformed the S&P, but underperformed tech stocks as a whole.
I think AMD is going to take some more of Intel's lunch in the near future, but don't expect anything crazy. I don't have enough extra money to gamble with in any case...
I'm going to invest in some Rivals for my Miata.
I understand the skepticism, but it's all good. I'm happy with the share price appreciation since I bought in just under $11. Not selling simply because I think it's going to run a bit more short term. I've almost exclusively built systems with AMD chips since the mid-1990's, so I believe in the company and its product.
