I am going to do that with some of the money from my Ford stock.

I was very close to buying stock in Ford in last Feb. It would have been a good call, but I just couldn't get it all together.

That kinda opportunity isn't going to pass me by again.

The media's really having their way with this thing. When Explorers were spontaneously combusting, and 1st gen Focuses were rolling out of the factory with back seat legroom that could only accomodate a double amputee nobody batted an eye.

Also, Toyota turned me into a newt!

    (I got better.)

What if a Toyota attacked me with a pointed stick???

    Where? Behind the rabbit?

I realize that's photoshopped but that isn't actually a runaway truck ramp is it? 'Cuz it looks like it's going uphill

Sure - they slow down faster when they go uphill. Around here they go uphill and have huge piles of sand at the end to slow them even faster.

Uh but what happens when the truck with failed brakes does come to a stop?

Its in fairly deep gravel so putting it in gear and the remains of the parking break should hold it no problem

Usually? The driver gets out and examines the remains of the payload strewn over the hillside... and if has them, puts on clean underwear.

All this runaway truck talk brings to mind a couple of songs:

"Nitro Express" what's got, "I had to ride 'er down, I couldn't jump free or there'd be a big hole where that little town used to be."

    and

"Wolf Crick Pass" (C.W. McCall...yes, I'm a nerd) which contains the eloquent lyrics "The sign said clearance to the twelve foot line, but the chickens was stacked to thirteen-nine. We shot that tunnel at a hundred and ten, like gas through a funnel and eggs through a hen. We took that top row of chickens off cleaner than scum off a Louisiana swamp!"

I don't care how off topic it is, you can't beat a good runaway truck song!
