I am going to be putting my car projects aside for the next few months. My best friend has brought to my attention a benefit for the American Cancer Society this summer being run by an old family friend called Tractors for a Cure. Several years ago his daughter had gotten Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, so since then he's been an advocate. My best friend also got Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma a few years ago and he really wants to be a part of this.
Anyways, I have decided to participate in this benefit. It's basically going to be a 10 mile poker run with tractors. Every tractor that participates needs to pull a "Party Wagon". There's two parties throughout the day at two ofthe stops, one will be a middle of the day BBQ, the one at the end of the day is a 21 and over party.
So, I need a tractor. That shouldn't be too much of a problem. There are a few tractors at my grandmas place that haven't run in 10 or more years.
The one I have decided on is the 1958 Ford 961 Powermaster. It has a 173ci 4-cyl that produces 62 hp and 166 ft-lbs of torque. It most likely needs a carb rebuild, tune up, and fluid change.
With a couple hundred bucks I'll have it running good.
This is a restored version of it, mine is going to retain the original patina.
