Cheaper to buy or build a smaller trailer?

    I'm in need of something around 5 x 8.

I can weld and scrounge pretty good. looking for some DIY plans if you've got'em

I'm building one from scrounged metal, no plans. a 6 X 10 rectangle with a 3" square tongue sticking out. Wasn't that easy?

I have the 10 ft. length divided into thirds, a cross member at each third, the tongue goes through the front member and is welded there and at the next cross member. I also have 2" angle iron running from the front to the back, 2 ft. in from each sice. I found 1/2" aluminum diamond plate 2ft. X 10ft. one will run down each side, 2ft. open center.

Axles and hubs from Northern Tool ran $300. $20 wheels, tires that cost me a pizza and 2 quarts of paint, I'm rolling.

Cheapest to get the trailer from HF. I paid $142 out the door on super sale plus a coupon. It would have cost me $150 to sue the state to get a title on one I built from scratch, so I was ahead already.
