Looking to buy an all purpose point and shoot kinda camera for under $100 (or real close to that with coupons etc).

Would like a fair amount of optical zoom.

    A stability feature.

    User friendly.

Im not too picky but i want a solid product. What can you recommend.

    Thanks

For point and shoots in that range, we've had good luck with cannon.

Canon is a good choice. Amazon.com lists several of their cameras for less than $100 new, and used ones for under $50.

    Any models in particular?

    How are the Kodaks? (Powershots?)

I'm using a Canon Powershot D10....it has great macro and underwater capabilities for shallow water scuba (33 feet.)

It's not $100, but I'm sure Canon has other models that are exactly what you are looking for.

The ones we have are all older models. A32 maybe? My wife's is put away somewhere. Read some reviews, play with some at the store. Technology is so awesome that for basic stuff I don't think you can really go wrong.
