My dad is tackling a v8 miata build using the 5L that i pulled from my 92 f150. Hes rebuilding the engine and now is looking for a miata to stuff it in. Searching on craigslist hes finding them for 1500-2000. All he needs is a solid shell. Anybody know a good place to look or know of any in the southern NH region? They gotta be cheaper then that right?

Even shells that arent rusty go for decent money these days cuz the spec miata guys take them all. Supply and demand.

Yea... hes begining to think hes going to need to look farther south to avoid the rust issue anyways. Hes looked at a few cars here and the bodies are just too far gone.

Actually, I think Mazda sold A million of them over the course of two decades, worldwide. And they have really robust mechanicals, so the "blown engine rust free" Miata is a rare beast indeed.
Just keep your eyes open. They're out there, but you may have to move fast and you'll want to let the local club and as many people as possible know that you're looking.

The worst rust is usually found on the unibody - but you can get replacement parts for that as well if you want to weld it in.
