I looked at a 2012 VW Beetle the other day and was struck by the hubcap design similarity to the original 911 wheel covers. The VW also comes with optional wheels that sort of remind me of the old Fuchs wheels on 911s.

Hey VW! We're on to you!

When I first saw the turbo at the dealership I thought, "Hmm, decidedly Porsche influence." Though a bit larger. Especially around the nose with the laid back headlamp assemblies.

Wait a minute. You saw these

And didn't immediatley think of the stock wheels on a late 60's beetle?

Now if you want porsche influence

    These.

Are a pretty nice modern replica of the Porsche 914 Mahle "Gasburner" wheels that have been a staple of the VW crowd forever

The retro Steelies are awesome. The latest issue of Motor Trend has a nice side shot of the 2013 Beetle with those wheels. Looks really good. I like this new Beetle.
