I was about to say this. I seem to remember MJ being flattered that Al had parodied him so many times. The only artists that get offended seem to be the ones that don't get it and the ones that take themselves too seriously.
I'm not sure if he still does it, but Al used to seek permission from each artist before he did a parody. I know that caused a bit of a SNAFU with "Amish Paradise", when the record label said yes and Coolio wasn't so cool. Eminem bit of a cock about the whole thing.
I really didn't mean to say "Eminem bit of a cock", but I think it works better that way

Yeah, from the "behind the music" I saw it came out that Al's publisher was supposed to ask Coolio but it never happened.
Now Al personally goes and asks. Which means Gaga was ok with all of it.
Al apparently has a vault full of Prince stuff he has done but Prince never gives the go ahead.

On the topic of Prince, Kevin Smith, a JG Pasterjak lookalike, was invited to film a Prince for what Kevin thought to be a documentary. It turned out that all Prince wanted was some footage for his personal collection.
