I am now a fully-employed New Yorker pending the final acceptance of the company that made me an offer today! I came up on February 28th with just my savings and the proceeds from the sale of the Z and this week, maybe, I will be able to start work.
I had two interviews today. One was the second interview for the job I am accepting.
The other was an interview with a life insurance company. Those berkeleyers bait you with the promise of a real job and then tell you (and the 40 other people waiting in the lobby) once you arrive that you'd be starting off as a salesman (or to be P.C., Salesperson). They told me that and I responded with "Well, gentlemen, I don't want to waste your time. I don't think this job will be for me", and I cut the interview short and left (don't worry, I was professional and courteous). Then I bought the sweet computer chair I'm sitting in now at Office Depot!
Anyway, this was a good day!
EDIT: It's official: I start Thursday!
