Let's say one wanted to join a good BMW forum, you know, because one had recently acquired an old Bimmer. Which one would you recommend for having the least amount of fanbois? In other words, which is the most GRM like?

Having said that, I'm suie all E36 questions can be answered on this board; but sometimes marque-specific forums yield some gems.

Depends on what BMW you bought. There are different forums for pretty much every model and year.

I bounced between m3forums.net and bimmerforums.com (their track section is pretty good) It was hard to sift through the fanboi stuff sometimes. Maxbimmer.com is an ok local site for purchasing used parts...

Depending on how old the BMW is, these guys are pretty knowlegable:

Just talk like you would here, don't lipoff, actually use punctuation and try to find the SpellCheck key and you'll do fine whatever Board you go to.

Be polite. What did you buy?

yea.. Bimmerforums can be a little overrun with the fanbois fawning over the latest poke and camber mods....

some of the model specific stuff can be good though.. and it is hard to beat their forsale section

I used to run a good local forum that contained a bunch of good E36 info. Bimmerforums is 100% fanboys. Even the track forum on there, you end up with a lot of of BMWCCA racers that are convinced they're the next Randy Pobst.

There IS good info somewhere there, but it's hard to find. I've got the Bentley manual for the car in PDF form, let me know if you want it sent over.

Better to find one more specific to your car. Recently on E90post, fanbois who want more hp out of their 335s, think LSDs for these cars are not worth the money and not really a good modification, etc.
