80% at the time. That was a fluid number and change as the election progressed. Towards November, his chances dropped a lot. I mean, even the Republicans never liked McCain, and still don't. And Palin was (and is) the only shining light in the bunch, as dim as that may be (as I have said, I am not convinced.)

I live 5 minutes from downtown Simpsonville. I live 20 minutes from downtown Greenville. My rush hour commute takes 15 minutes. Outside of my house (literally within a stone's throw) there is 125 acres of "greenspace" There is one of the largest upstate communal parks within 4 miles from my house; Heritage Park. Between Heritage Park and my house (as I said 4 miles) there are three other parks and numerous forests and wooded areas. I don't live in the sticks either. I have city water, sewer, municipal garbage pickup, etc.
I can't speak for the comparison of libraries since I haven't ever been in a Connecticut library but I would wager a guess that your are probably superior but not enough to warrant such a discrepancy in tax rates.
