How in the world do you guys keep all these cars on site. I have space for two cars without the lift and even that's pushing is. The city would slap me so freakin hard if I had more then say 4.
So no I am not happy, but I am content. The Snake does just about everything I need short of dump runs and mulch runner.
I was perfectly happy with my (no) car situation, (88 Dakota 248,000 mi.,02 Dakota wifes DD, 06 Dodge Mega Cab diesel) until I told my friend Christina I would store her Boxster while her husband is deployed to Afghan-ville. The shipping company couldn't get near my street during the big snow,so they picked me up and I got drive it for 20 miles to bring it home.
Took it out last weekend to fill it with fuel before putting it away for a year, and I now know why the Porsche slogan is ...there is no substitute! They ain't lying.
So not happy at the moment...
Mine are scattered around - trailer in a storage shed with a bike, another bike at a friends, one in FLA at the folks' house...still have a few in the driveway - planning on thinning the herd - targa is for sale - bronco will be a little later this spring. May sell the triumph too - but after reading about the LeGrand - I'm tempted to put the 955 in a DSR
I've got my '99 Wrangler, which is currently my daily driver. A few parts have been replaced with more off-road-functional ones when they went, but being a Jeep, parts aren't going often. I'd like to help it on its way to a full-on rockcrawler a little quicker, but I'm content putting most of my money into my other car right now. I'll make sure my Jeep will get there, I've completed the bulk of work on the car, which will free up a little money and more time.
The "other" car is my '91 E30, which is fast becoming a Spec E30 car. It's still street legal for now, as I run HPDEs, but won't be much longer than that. Soon, it will need to be trailered from one track to the next. I was going to buy a pickup to take over some DD duty and towing duty, but my dad offered to let me use his Hemi Commander to tow when I need it.
I could draw up a huge list of cars that I would love to buy just to fix up, modify and track, but I've got most of my money going into the race car. And I wouldn't prefer to have one of those and give up on racing. I imagine when I've got more money, I'll put it towards another car, either moving up another class or getting into rallying. I don't really spend much on other things I buy, so at some point I'll have something street legal to drive up to the tracks (VIR is pretty close by), but getting racing is my current automotive priority.
Very happy. I've got my trio of Volvos - '83 240 for racing, '93 940 for the wife, and an '06 S80 AWD to replace my fire-ravaged 745T.
I was in the same situation as some of you guys - going to work in a beat-down, clapped-out ride that I really loved. It took a massive engine fire to get me to upgrade, but I am SO glad I did. I'm totally spoiled now. 
Sigh. Winter beater is a 91 Mazda 323, but it's in ridiculously good condition. Same goes for summer beater, 95 Mazda MX3, no rust, low mileage. Dirty little secret: 97 Dodge Dakota, hidden away in the backyard behind a tall fence. None of these is particularly sexy, but they're all running and they're all paid for.
I have 19 and I am still hunting more, there are 3 on the hook as we speak.

I got no complaints. The '98 328i is in fantastic shape, paid for, and very fun and comfortable to drive every day. Not much in the world puts a bigger smile on my face than hurling my STS Miata through a field of cones. The Nighthawk is a good looking, reliable, competent bike, if somewhat sedate in performance (for a bike -- it'll still destroy either of my cars in a drag race).
I wouldn't complain if the Miata were to turn into an Elise and the 328 into an '06 330i ZHP as I sleep tonight, but I've got the closest thing I can afford to both of those, and no car payments. That doesn't suck.
I've been sad ever since I sold my turbo Firefly two years ago. Made me realize to never sell a car you love, which is why I refuse to get rid of my Swift GTi. I really like the talon I have right now, and hope I can keep it due to its unmolestedness.
Its actually not so much the car situation that sucks, its the "nowhere to store or work on them" situation.

Silly city folk. If you want a fleet of cars, you need to live in the country where there is space to store them all and let them stretch their legs.
i have no complaints with the current fleet, my '96 PGT has 222k miles on it and has never had the intake manifold off. wifey's '03 Ody had the trans replaced under NHTSA recall at 44k, and now has 160k with only routine maintenance -- well, other than the failed EGR at 65k and the siezed AC compressor at 95k.
that does not mean that i don't have an itch, however. i've been looking for the right E39 (sport package and clutch pedal are mandatory).
Happy, yet not 100% satisfied.
The situation will never be perfect - I too would gladly exchange the Miata for an Elise and would rather have better examples of my my Mini and 2002 - neither is ever going to be a show car as long as I own them, but if I could've afforded better versions of them when I bought them I might be happier.
I like cars that are paid for better than ones that aren't.
I'm constantly impressed by how well my E28 performs for a $1K car. So, pretty happy on that front. One car just doesn't feel like enough, though. Once I can work some proper hours during the semester break, I want to pick up a project, and/or a motorbike.
I'm thrilled with my stable, I've got two fun projects going on which i alternate work on (the "challenge" 924, and the 924 Turbo GT replica project) and just about every thing i need to make both go, thanks to the parts car in the back yard (which might become a Lemons car
) except an abundance of time. The VX(vehicross) can haul anything i need , anywhere, and the 1st edition Insight keeps my high tech yearnings in check and I'm averaging 50 mpg on the daily commute. The little ladies Rabbit is still new enough to be reliable and low maintenance, which keeps both of us worry free , despite racking up serious miles.
I cant complain at all ...
ofcourse I still want another 928 (and have a manual 82 lined up once the guy gets tired of looking at in his yard and decides to sell it cheap to me,) or a 968, and maybe swap the vx for a camper van or small rv at some point for those long trips and camping, but it gives me something to work for, gotta keep dreaming!
I'm done for now... probably one car too many.
'99 Corvette - way too good for how little I paid for it, needs a set of tires. '91 CRX - complete and spectacular (7.7 25-75, from a 1.6), needs front brakes. '94 Miata - still marching along, still a lot of fun to drive. '94 Civic - disappointing mileage (37, should be 50+), but otherwise not bad for an eBay special. '00 Legacy - my mom got her money's worth.
No kart and it's inconvenient, but I think I'm going to be selling almost everything I own this year and karts are nearly impossible to sell quickly.
They both start every day and cost next to nothing to run so for the time being I can be happy with that

Of course I am not happy. I mean, I love my MR2 and my Rondo and tolerate my Mirage, but when I drive past that Miata down the street I know I want one. I saw a lowered STi in black on 5-spoke rims and was saddened by the thought that it was not mine. Ditto for the Speed3 I couldn't afford. Or the Porsche I will never own. It's not a money or storage space issue...if I had a billion dollars, I would still run out of money before I owned all the cars I wanted!

When a major pharma company decides to build out in the country I am the first in line trust me. But for now I am stuck in the city proper with all its rules and regulations. At least no HOA where I am now. Thought out here in San Diego the country life actually costs more then city life, housing/time/safety wise.
But If I do the lift then I can get the Elise in and stored safely, then I will be much happier car wise. I have a lead on a 05 with some track safety bits that I hope pans out, or I give up and will start looking for something a older and much slower.
The wifey's leased Beetle, IE tax write off, will be gone in ~9 months to be replaced with a A3 TDI so we will not be a house full of red convertible sports cars for that much longer.
sigh...no i am not right now....just replaced the read capliers on my wagon this morning and that is not the problem. somehow the new clutch is screwed up and i can not get any str answers from anyone on what the issue is....sigh... 1995 subby legecy....runs but having magor issue to not be used for work or DD....
1966 rambler.....need to fix the shifter when i pull it out of the garage at the end of the month and order some little parts for things that need to be fixed right away this summer.
1988 monty carlo stock car....hoping to be able to get started on getting it done next month to be able to finnaly after 3 years be able to run it in anger and smoke the tires to annoy the dudge acrros the street....

I love my Golf, it's a great little DD. I won't be parting with this little guy anytime soon.
However I need a fun car when I get back. I don't regret selling the 944. It was more trouble than I could handle. So it had to go. However I'm on the prowl for something special...
I have a Lotus Elan as a daily driver, a Starion ESi-R for when I visit my folks in Canada, and not to mention easy borrowing of a 944S and a DeLorean. I'm pretty satisfied at the moment...
The only thing not ideal is I have no garage (or even a driveway, or a particularly good set of tools) in Germany so working on the Elan is a big PITA. I usually end up paying a shop for stuff that I could do myself. That always irks me.
Also between storage over the German winter and me being in SE Asia so often I hardly ever get to drive them way less than I like. Hardships, I know...
Happy, To a point. Just bought a SVT Focus.
Just wonder sometimes if I should have waited and saved the extra couple grand and got a comprable-milage'd WRX...
