I wasn't the best teen driver. I hit a few stationary objects. I even jumped a curb and went on somebody's lawn after overcooking a turn.

well... I saw nothing wrong with the way most of those people were acting. If anything, the majority were pretty civil. They were sorry the car was dead and glad everyone got out of the wreckage in good health.
Pretty brutal photos of what happens to an R8 when broadsided by a rampickup. It survived better than I thought it would.
I just find it a weird forum as they majority of the people there seem to be into cars and stuff there due to the "status" it seems to give them.
This might belong with the whole "poser/playa" thing

Yeah... that thread didn't seem much different than when one of the regulars here gets into an accident where they weren't at fault. The OP was pretty civil about the whole thing.
