I am not talking about the stuff they have lying on the shelves.. I understand why the paint markers have to come out on those. With thousands of different parts that all look alike, I can see why they would mark on a part what it is and where it came from.
Two weeks ago I was in a yard picking up some parts.. they guy had gotten them off of the car for me (It was not a u-pull it yard) and right in front of me, took out the paint marker and wrote all over the back of it what it was and what it was for.
It was one more useless step for him.. and one more step for me to clean it off before it went on the car.
Why?
